The
laboratory space in the PNL comprises a large work space, a behavioral
testing room, and a large double walled IAC booth for controlled
auditory and ERP testing.
The Main Laboratory area is lined with work areas containing
several workstations dedicated to stimulus development, data analysis,
and manuscript preparation.
The Main Laboratory space
is also equiped to perform high quality digital audio and video
recording for the production of new stimulus materials.
Currently, we are using the
Adobe Video Suite, Virtual Dub, Cool Edit, MATLAB, Ligos Mpeg
compressor, Real DVD, and several custom software solutions for the
development and production of AV stimuli.
On the analysis side, we use custom software, Excel, and SPSS for
Behavioral data analysis, Neuroscan Edit and CURRY for ERP and MEG
analysis, and Brainvoyager, MRICRO and SPM2 for fMRI data processing
and analysis.
The Behavioral testing room is equiped with a custom PC based stimulus
delivery and response collection system that allows for the collection
of a variety of behavioral responses to auditory and video stimuli
including identification with PC keyboard, virtual buttons with PC
mouse, and millisecond resolution button press reaction times.
The PC system also controls the randomization and playback of audio and
video stimuli from a Panasonic V7400 industrial DVD player.
The IAC testing room is equiped with a 64-channel Synamp2 ERP recording
system from Neuroscan, Polhemous 3D digitizer, Stim audio and
visual presentation system and custom DVD video presentation system.
