The early registration fee of $220 covers the meeting, food, and housing costs. If you don't wish to stay in Naismith Dormitory, then the fee is only $170. After May 31, fees will go up by $80 to cover extra expenses (i.e. $300 for everything, $250 without housing). If you would like to bring a friend, relative, or friendly stranger to the banquet to show them just how wild and/or weird worm people can be, extra tickets to the banquet are available for $40.
Check-in for the meeting will be held at Naismith Hall from 12:00-5:00 p.m. CST on Friday, June 11. Please stop by the meeting registration table to pick up your nametag and meeting materials. If you will arrive after 5:00 p.m., please notify conference registration on your registration form or by e-mailing info@dce.ksu.edu with the subject line of Midwest Worm Meeting.
The evil fine print: Cancellation and Refund Policy:
We reserve the right to cancel or postpone the meeting because of insufficient enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances.
If a program is canceled or postponed, you will be refunded registration fees but we cannot be held responsible for other costs, charges, or expenses, including cancellation/change charges assessed by airlines or travel agencies.
If you must cancel your registration, do so as soon as possible.
A full refund, minus a $25.00 administrative fee, will be made if cancellation is received in writing by Kansas State University by 5:00 p.m. on June 4, 2004.
After that date, due to guarantees we must give, refunds are not available.
If you do not contact Kansas State University to cancel your registration and do not attend the meeting, your registration fee will not be refunded.
Refunds cannot be given for amounts less than $5.00.
Substitutions are encouraged and can be made at any time by e-mailing info@dce.ksu.edu with the subject line of Midwest Worm Meeting.
That was painful! Now nicer stuff:
HousingThe main dormitory housing will be at Naismith Hall on the south edge of campus. The rooms are doubles and have semi-private baths (i.e. 4 people to a bathroom). Sheets, pillowcases, bath towels, wash cloths, a pillow and blanket are included. You will need to provide any personal items you will need including toiletries. A full service breakfast will be served from 7:00 - 8:30 am the mornings of June 12 and 13th. A weight center is available for your use. Rooms have high-speed internet access, and are carpeted. Parking is free at the dormitory for this conference. |

For those not wishing to associate with commoners (or wanting to bring your family), we have reserved a block of rooms in the historic Eldridge Hotel (the site of the banquet). You must make your own reservation: please call (800)527-0909 and tell them that you are attending the Worm Conference, in order to get the special rate ($99 plus applicable taxes) for Friday and Saturday nights. The Eldridge is located in the center of downtown Lawrence. Parking is free for guests; we will run van shuttles to and from the hotel to events on campus. |
BanquetThe banquet will be held in several rooms at the Eldridge Hotel in downtown Lawrence, the only building left standing after Quantrill's Raid during the Civil War. We will run vans periodically back to the dorms, so you can stay late for night life after dancing (Free State Microbrewery and Liberty Hall Auditorium are across the street).

ParkingParking is free at Naismith Hall, and at the Eldridge Hotel for guests. Parking is NOT free on the rest of campus on Friday afternoon (but is free on Saturday and Sunday). If you park at the Union on Friday evening, please be sure to use the parking garage (way overpriced, $1/hour) at least until 7 p.m., at which time the other lots open up. Some parking in downtown Lawrence is free, or free for less than 2 hours. All parking downtown is free after 6 p.m. Meters are ridiculously cheap; bring nickels and dimes. The city fine is $2 for not feeding the meter (except in handicapped zones). The campus fine is a lot higher. |
