INAY VILLAGE

Inay is a small but authentic village in Usak province, Ulubey town.

Its economy depends mostly on agriculture. Tobacco, wheat and barley are main products that are raised in the village. The stock-breeding  is mostly depends on sheep and goat cattle-dealing.

The village is about 40 minutes away from Usak. Transportation is provided by railway and motorway, that is, it easy to arrive at the Village.

The population of the village is around 1,900 villagers. It has also a small hamlet.

The history of Village is also very interesting and old. There are some remains from Roman, Seljuk and Ottoman Empires. There is also an antic city remains called Blaundus just outside of the Village borders. Blaundus was built by Blaundus who was a general in the army of Great Alexander. Castle entree, theatre, temple and water canals are still stand on in the antic city.

It was said that the name of the Village, INAY came from the great inns  around the village (IN) and valley shaped like a moon (AY) in which the Village is stand. But recently, scientists found an ancient city called "Inais" which shows the origin of the current name of the Village.

İnay'ın İçinde Üçtür Minare

İnay’ın içinde üçtür minare
Yandım anam yandım döndüm kömüre
Eski ahbaplarım şimdi nerede
Yandım anam yandım döndüm fenere

Gümüşkol Kışla’ya buradan geçilir
Yedioluklu’nun suyu içilir
Böyle memleketten nasıl geçilir
Yandım anam yandım döndüm fenere

İnay’ın içinde bir kuru dere
Yandım anam yandım döndüm kömüre
Eski ahbaplarım şimdi nerede
Yandım anam yandım döndüm fenere.
