Find SNP information using NCBI eUtils: eSearch and eFetch<

This script accepted a set of SNP IDs or a chromosome region to search for SNPs, and retrieved information about those SNPs from NCBI, using the NCBI eUtils package.

In particular the gene sequences within 100 base pairs up- and down-stream of the SNPs nominal position was displayed, indicating the locations of neighbor SNPs within the region.

This script showed target SNPs with NCBI weights of 1 or 2 (uniquely mapped, or mapped to only 2 genome locations), but only showed neighbor SNPs of weight 1.
