About Me

Hello, my name is Chris Huckabee I graduated from Washburn Rural High School in Topeka, Kansas in May of 2006.

Throughout highschool I was a member of various organizations such as; the Marching Junior Blues, four years, I was also a member of the Washburn Rural Renaissance Leadership program for two years.

As a Junior in the Renaissance Program, I, along with my partner, created a presentation, applied for, and was granted $10,000 from the PTO to develop an outdoor educational facility.  Senior year I was directly involved with the editing and production of a video for the graduating class of 2006.  I was also a member of Washburn Rural's Student Council my senior year.

Throughout highschool I had some amazing opportunities made available to me with regards to leadership.
Most of my leadership opportunities were based through the United Methodist Church. I immediately became involved with the Kansas East Conference Council on Youth Ministries and stayed active in that for four and a half years. From there I moved up to the United Methodist South Central Jurisdiction Jurisdictional Youth Team which I was fortunate to be involved with for 3 years. During that time I, along with the rest of the Executive Team, helped to lead over 900 youth and youth workers in a week long Jurisdiction wide event, SpiLiRa, as well as two smaller events, JYMO.

I am currently a First semester Senior at the University of Kansas. Freshman year I immediately became involved in various activities throught campus.
I am currently a member of the Marching Jayhawks, the Womens Basketball Pep-Band, and Wesley KU - the United Methodist Campus Ministry organization on campus.  Additionally, as a Junior I became involved with Icthus Campus Ministry. Also, I was the Tenor Saxophone Section Leader for the Marching Jayhawks for the 2008-2009 season, and I am currently the Tenor Saxophone Drill Instructor for the 2009-2010 season.
