About Maggie and Sally . . .

Maggie (Major Margaret Houlihan), on the left, died May 2005. She was 10. Also known as the "Princess," Maggie loved everyone, wanted everyone to pet her . . . but, most important wanted everyone to comment (exclaim, actually) on how pretty she was.

Sally (Sally Kellerman), on the right, is a 10 year old Dalmatian with a troubled past. I adopted her from Dalmatian Rescue. She had been found on the street and the poor thing couldn't even wag her tail! She's a great squirrel chaser and always eager to play (and play hard).

Maggie, and now, Sally carry on the dal tradition of Potter (Major Sherman T. Potter), my first dal, who was named for my dad. My father looked like Harry Morgan and acted like the M*A*S*H character. His name, Junior, didn't encourage others to name someone after him . . . so Potter was his namesake. While I was in graduate school, Potter won several "pet" contests and was featured on a television show while visiting Chicago (while there he was a guest at the Ritz Carlton!).

Ever wonder what a dog could teach you? Take a look at what Maggie and Sally think everyone should learn.
