Quantitative Research Design

Distinguishing Between Descriptive and Experimental Studies

Identifying research designs in the research literature is not always easy. Want another source of information? Two web pages provide examples to help test your knowledge of non-experimental and experimental research designs. Check out the web page of Dr. Darrell L. Butler and the web page of an introductory psychology course at Madonna University.  Although both pages give psychology examples, the principles for distinguishing between non-experimental (or correlational) and experimental studies remain the same.

Randomly Assignment Participants to Experimental Groups

This GraphPad web site provides an interactive program that will help you randomly assign participants to experimental groups. Fast and easy!
