Why the name?

This page received its name from the fact that Lawrence, Kansas (my home of 14 years) is the 'Center of the Earth' on Google Earth. Brian McClendon, Google VP in charge of the development of Google Earth, is a fellow University of Kansas alum and Lawrence native. If you open Google Earth and zoom in, it will center on Brian's former apartment.
