Megan Kaminski is a poet and essayist. She also specializes in ecopoetics, 20th and 21st Century anglophone poetry and poetics, and contemporary nonfiction. She is the author of two books of poetry, Deep City (Noemi Press, 2015) and Desiring Map (Coconut Books, 2012), and ten chapbooks. Her poems and essays have appeared in The Atlantic, American Letters & Commentary, Denver Quarterly, Puerto del Sol, Third Coast, and other journals. She is working on a new book, Gentlewomen, which explores gender constructions, especially as related to issues of class and social justice, through a revision of gendered domesticity and a re-imagining of the voices of female allegorical figures.

Before joining the faculty at the University of Kansas, she made her home in Los Angeles, Paris, Casablanca, and Portland, OR. She is an assistant professor in the University of Kansas' Graduate Creative Writing Program and an Integrated Arts Research Initiative Faculty Fellow at the Spencer Museum of Art. She also curates the Taproom Poetry Series in downtown Lawrence.
