I am a member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma and want to use the knowledge and skills that I acquire at Kansas University to help Indigenous people. I am a Master's student in Geography at Kansas University. My main area of focus is on Indigenous Geography. Specifically, I am looking at the social, cultural and economic impacts of climate change on Indigenous people around the world. I am also a graduate of Haskell Indian Nations University where I earned a Bachelor's Degree in American Indian Studies. While at Haskell, I interned with the Haskell Environmental Research Institute and studied climate change issues with industrial corn agriculture. I also interned with the Kansas Solar Center and studied the feasibility of using solar power to run small-scale biodiesel refineries for use on reservation lands. Both the Haskell Environmental Research Studies Institute and the Kansas Solar Center were funded with grants from the National Science Foundation's Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research(NSF/EPSCoR).
