Jules I. Schwartz, 1959-1960


A language based on ALGOL 58, with extensions for large scale real-time programming. The data elements are items, entries (records) and tables. JOVIAL saw extensive use by the US Air Force. Most of the software for AWACS is in JOVIAL, running on IBM's AOCP computer (an IBM 360 compatible).
